Fall Transitions

I am finally ready to embrace fall, I cannot live in denial that the seasons have changed, and the warm weather and long days of sunlight are over. The air is cool and crisp, the leaves are transforming colour and my favorite part about the change of season, a switch in wardrobe is no longer inevitable, but essential.

Usually transitioning your wardrobe to fall means an your closet is instantly overtaken with heavy fabrics, chunky knits and dark colours, but this season in both fashion and optical style things are looking lighter. Blush, cream and smoky grey tones are softening the seasonal style transition. This gives the opportunity to keep some of the lighter colours from spring and summer in the wardrobe, perfect for layering, which is a fall fashion must.

It’s hard to say if my eyewear is inspired by fashion or fashion inspires my eyewear style, either way the seeing so much blush in fashion and eyewear as a fall trend has encouraged me to create fall styles that are softer and lighter than years past.

Blush glasses are making an appearance in many frame styles. Here is my favorite blush frame.

The thoughtful details on this Derek Lam frame by Modo make it lux and unique. The rose gold bridge and temple brackets give the rounder frame shape an antique flair. Set on an acetate frame of blush tortoise, the results are a standout style that doesn’t overwhelm the weaere.

A frame with a tortoiseshell pattern with a blush foundation is the perfect compliment to a wearer with fairer skin. Rather than yellow, amber or a shade of brown such is common with traditional tortoiseshell, a blush tortoiseshell is a fresh take a classic that is gaining popularity.

In my pair of glasses I have added a style layer with Transitions Lenses in Signature 7 Brown. They adapt to a warm, dark brown colour when exposed to UV light, and have a rosy hue as they transition back to clear (I really like the lighter in between colour). It looks so stylish with the blush tortoise coloured frame.

This skirt from H&M has to be one of my favorite piece in my wardrobe. It’s impossible not to feel pretty in this feminin skirt. I can’t help but twirl! It has transitioned perfectly from spring right through till fall with a long sleeve top and cut out booties.

I am excited to share more of my eyewear wardrobe and how I pair eyewear and fall fashions for fabulous style combinations.
